Polarion-Server Application Lifecycle Managment
Polarion has released an innovative project tracker and wiki, all in one, server. It targets project managers with dynamic, distributed, teams with focus on integrated WEB tracking&collaboration needs. You can give it a try yourself, the demo server is here: http://twdemo.polarion.com/polarion/ Instructions: register an account first, even a bogus one will just do fine.
My first hand expression:
* proper web 2.0 ajax-technology web portal
* intuitive interface with concise content per page/view
* comprehensive feature set
There is easy access to work-items, i.e. defects (bugs), issues as well as reports, builds and monitoring tools available. There is also mentioned an integration with Subversion, though I didnt get what exactly that implies.
Since it is a specialized CMS system with wiki style interface this gives you a comprehensive customization of the view (look’n'feel). Stillthe demo server was just set up fine and navigating around was quite easy.
I was however sadly surprised by the high-price of licensing without any flexible plans. Like targeting indie low budget companies and start-ups
10 users $690 (US)
25 users $1250 (US)
250 users $5000 (US)
2500 users $7500 (US)
Though, the current clients look as quite diverse by industry and size!
If you can AFFORD it, it seems a decent solution for the high-demanding collaborative project you might try to manage.
